what’s with Queen Latifa staying in the closet? she is obviously dating that trainer lady..fuck.it’s more embarrassing for her that she’s staying all lame about the whole issue. Maybe she doesn’t want the role of being a gay role model? Maybe the black mafia is bullying her around. MAYBE she is to blame for Cali losing PROP 8. LET’S GET HER! GRRRR! Mostly mormons, right wing fundamentalists, black and hispanics voted against PROP 8. With Queen L repping for the gays i’m sure a bit of the Black and Hispanic contingency would’ve supported gay marriage.
Even though.. as we’re all swept up in this gay marriage issue, may i remind everyone: Who the hell wants to get married anyways?? It’s lame! I’m not christian. and just like Tina Fey, I pretty much do whatever Opera tells me to. Marriage is an antiquated tradition that the hetero’s have made a mockery of WITHOUT the help of the queer community. The heteros did this all by themselves. oh yes..a 60% divorce rate does not make me think the sanctity of marriage is still intact. at all.
Equal Common Law Rights sure! but marriage? Why would you want to sign up for a religion that you aren’t even close to practicing? I know too many friends and weekend warriors who haven’t been to church since the age of 5 who are to adamant about getting married…because it’s ‘important’ to them. what the?…who cares!
Do non-christian gays really want to be miserable like the rest of the population? I’m all for gaining the same tax benefits marriage brings, but as for the whole drawn out religious process, forget it. The last place the government and church should be is in my bed or on my kitchen counter or in my shower…keeping a relationship afloat will take much more than a piece of paper in my mind.
gays! snap out of it. i know, YES you want to have a big party and sign up for gift registry, but why does it have to be thrown by JESUS if you don’t even practice his doctrine? It’s like a Buddhist wanting to celebrate a Bar Mitzvah just because jews get to do it. Granted there are religous gays out there. So i guess they should be fighting for marriage equality,but when you see obviously non-religious queer individuals fighting like it’s Armegeddon for christian marriage rights i get confused.
OH SNAP! according to mediatakeout Queen L and her woman are engaged! Queen’NOT GAY’ Latifa popped the question to her 4 year gf ‘Janette’ back in 2007.
well well i retract my initial statement if in fact mediatakeout is accurate.

bitches aint shit
i ussually think that music school nerds are fucking wack, and this completely substantiates my beliefs on that matter. I watched the whole clip because I was *that* bored half hoping one one of them would let loose a bit and maybe wave a hand in the air or snap. something.
watching this clip made me think of my friend eme and her unweavering obsession with that australian dude who would always hang out with Ben Folds…fuck i forgot his name. Ben Lee. Anyways, he made tender lesbianonic music and used to date claire danes. Which is a perfect segway into: wtf remember her? Where is she now? Last i saw, she was repping GAP and their boyfriend trouser campaign with Patrick Wilson. ZZzzzZZZZzZZzz.
sooo after a quick browse of her website i know 2 things:
1. she’s still alive and,
2. she recently signed a blah blah million dollar deal with Gucci to be the spokesperson for their new Jewelerry line that was released this Autumn.
She also seems to be dating this cute english actor Hugh Dancy. So i guess we can all exhale a sigh of relief that our favorite My So Called Life star is doing alright and properly investing her child star money with the right publicity reps!

it’s all good, it’s all OK. i’ll just be forced to look outward and onward because after 2 (semi) break-ups in one day while slightly being crabby from a hangover i’m forced to realize: life can’t be that bad. Yet at this moment I’m holding on by the thinnest of threads with a dazed expression on my face.
nonetheless it’s not that bad. I’ll just listen to jann arden till i snap out of this. or fall all the way in.
mehhh…2 songs later: the only thing that is keeping me from crawling back into bed for another 12hr sleep is the reasurance i got last night by making out with a cute painter at play. I’m still young enough to gauge my self-worth by how many people wanna get with me. and may i never grow out of that.
ANYWHO I’m about to eat dinner then head to St.Albert to watch Lucinda Williams tear at my heart strings a bit more.
15 minutes later: Come to think about it, i feel free for the first time in years.
As a new rule of thumb: I need to start pursuing people that didn’t know me during my fro-years.
I will re-read this in an hour, and delete this post knowing it’s so condesending.
